Welcome to High School at Astolot.
Astolot Educational Centre, high school is continuing to growing.
- Semestered high school, running from September to June.
- Inspected by the Ministry of Education and fully accredited.
- Extended French can be offered in high school.
- Class ratios in many high school academic courses are 5:1. Art courses and Healthy Active Living courses may have higher ratios.
- Astolot students are evaluated through observation, tests, presentations, and conferences. Evaluations are shared with parents at mid-term and end-of-term during the two semesters: Winter and Spring.
- Academic, speech, language, and psychological assessments from external sources are considered.
- CCAC provides speech, occupational therapy (OT), and psychological services in public and private schools across Ontario through the Ministry of Health at no cost to parents.
- Astolot students work within the Ontario Curriculum course content. Graduation requirements and assessments are determined by the Ministry of Education. Curriculum documents and the assessment guide, Growing Success, are available on the Ministry website.
- Students leaving Astolot have been accepted to universities and colleges across Canada and around the world. Previous students have earned scholarships from Bishop's University, Carleton University, the University of Ottawa, and Algonquin College. They succeed in post-secondary education through the learning and self-advocacy skills they have developed.
